2012 REGISTRATION FORMS

Summer is here and swimming is a great outdoor sport for the youth of our community. The Forest Ridge Fighting Fish swim team is a local summer team affiliated with the Miami Valley Swimming Association. The team’s home pool is located in the Forest Ridge subdivision in the City of Riverside. The season runs from June 4 – July 29, 2012.

WHO:

Boys and Girls Ages 5-18
(must be 5 and cannot be over 18 on or before June 1, 2012).

COST:

Resident of Forest Ridge Association $50 registration fee per swimmer (family max $120)
Non-resident of Forest Ridge Association $60 registration fee per swimmer (family max $130)*
*This fee does not include membership to the FRA pool or use of the pool other than for swim team practice, meets and special events.

Concession Fee: $6.00 per swimmer

LOCATION:

Forest Ridge Pool complex, (located on Union Schoolhouse Road, ½ block off Valley Street)

Swim Team Sign Up Day at FRA pool -

May 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and
May 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Parent Meeting on...

June 8 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Pool.
This will be an Ice Cream Social with Tie-Dye t-shirts

PRACTICE:

Starts June 4th: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. for ages 10 and under, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. for ages 11 and up

Forest Ridge Association Swim Team Philosophy

We have clear policies and rules so that everyone will be treated evenly and fairly.
We distribute the swimming opportunities as evenly as possible among all participants.
We encourage the swimmers to concentrate on doing their best and to enjoy the competition – win or lose.
We encourage the swimmers to cheer for their teammates and to congratulate them on their performance.
We hire good coaches, give them clear instruction as to what we expect, and closely monitor their performance.

The success of the Swim Team is not just the result of effort by the swimmers. Behind every swimmer there needs to be an adult who supports the team in the areas of transportation, officiating, scoring, supervision and fund raising. Those who get involved find that it’s a lot of fun.
